Toyota Fortuner to be launched on 24th August
How much? 20-22 lakh (expected On-road price).
That means it will go head on against the market leader, the Endeavour. It will be a couple of lakh rupees cheaper than the Captiva and the Outlander and a whopping 6 lakh rupees cheaper than the Honda CR-V.
engines:
a 2.7 Petrol, 160bhp, 241Nm
and more importantly a 3.0 Diesel, 163bhp, 343Nm
What to expect? Bulletproof reliability, good off-road ability and a lot of Fortuners on the road by the end of the year!

ReplyDeleteall i can say is that honda better start evaluating about bringing the diesel CRV asap because this car is sure to give honda a nightmare
and chevy's dream run with the captiva(from the reports a few months back, its almost selling in similar nos to the CRV) might just come to an abrupt end
Agreed. But the fact that the the CR-V is a CBU import and rising raw material costs day in day out is what is making Honda throw the CR-V diesel on the back seat. That's precisely the reason why the CR-V diesel, in spite of being tested for more than an year now, has still not been launched in the country. But sooner or later, Honda will have to make the move. The Chevy I guess can't do much as of now.
ReplyDeleteIs this an SUV like the Ford Endeavour or a soft-roader like the Honda CRV?
