Mazda 1 city concept to debut in Paris Show

The Mazda 1 City Car Concept will be shown in the Paris Motor Show. The Mazda 2 has been a great success for the Japanese company which is planning to go completely crazy with its design philosophy in the coming years. We saw the stunning Taiki and Furai concepts in the past few shows and there's no holding back Mazda. While the size and the financial clout of the company isn't enough right now to go experimenting crazily like Chris Bangle did with BMW a few years ago, the future definitely looks wacky. We're not complaining, for we love all those those breathtakingly futuristic concepts shown by the Japanese car maker.

Schumacher to compete in German Superbike Championship??

Schumacher has allegedly registered to enter a superbike championship with an alias. German newspaper Bild reports that seven times F1 World Champion Michael Schumacher has renamed himself falsely as Marcel Hiederhausen to race in the series' next round at Oschersleben. The ace driver (now rider) will probably compete for Holzhauer Racing team. No matter how many time Schumi denies the possibility, we would still love to see him riding that bright red Ducati Desmosedici in MotoGP.

People's Bike? Is VW getting into bikes

If rumors were to be believed, this is the bike that Volkswagen may soon be building with a little help from KTM. The German company helped the Austrian bike maker with its 2.0-litre Audi engines and know-how in cars. KTM may return favor by helping the German car maker develop its first motorcycle. The only question we have to ask is, why enter the business when most current players are shying away from it. Isn't the goal of becoming the No.3 car maker in the world big enough?

New Honda Accord - What's the deal

Honda says that new Accord is a new design altogether. It's got a larger wheel-base, new exterior styling and a retuned 2.4 litre i-VTEC engine. The interior space has increased substantially, and so has the quality of the cabin and the equipment levels. Honda claims that the fuel efficiency has increased by 8%, and we agree to that after having driven the car and getting some really min-boggling efficiency figures for an engine so big. The 2.4-litre engine produces 180 PS of power.

Honda says that they have benchmarked the new Accord against the likes of the BMW 3-series for handling and they tried to keep the quality of the interior as close as possible to Audi cars. While Honda may not have succeeded in completely achieving what they were gunning for, the new car still is a great improvement over the outgoing Accord, which itself was the best car in its segment by a good margin. Now, the day Honda plonks in the 2.2 I-DTEC engine into the car, we can expect all the exec car makers in the country press the panic button

Skoda Fabia 1.2 petrol launched in India

Skoda India has launchred the petrol version of its Fabia without making much noise. The 1198cc gasoline engine produces 70PS of power and a very healthy 108 Nm of torque, making the car the leader in its segment in terms of pulling power. The characteristic solid build quality of Skoda remains, and so does the superb fit-finish and equipment levels witnessed earlier on the 1.4 TDI PD version of the car. We know the machine handles brilliantly, if only Skoda could plonk in a 2.0 lite petrol, we'll have a proper hatch rocketship for our country!

Ferrari California - The new Ferrari GT

Ferrari California is the new 2+2 Ferrari GT. It features the world's first seven-speed twin-clutch transmission and a 454bhp 4.3-litre V8 with direct injection (again a Ferrari first).

The 4300cc V8 block is borrowed from the F430. Needless to say it'll be a fast car and will blast from 0-100km/h in less than 4 seconds.

the weight of the car is estimated to be under 1700kg. We think it could have managed to be lighter with some carbon fibre bits slipped in. But it's a Ferrari, so it's bound to make news, and bound to sell!
